GPTZero is the world's leading platform for verifying the origin, quality, and factuality of the world's information. In less than a year, GPTZero has been used by over 5M people around the world and is depended on by thousands of consumer and enterprise customers. We’ve been covered on the front page of the NYT, BBC, WSJ, WaPo, Fox, NPR, and CNN; and serve >2M unique users per month.
In March 2023, we raised a $3.5M seed round co-led by Uncork Capital and Neo with angel investments by the Altman Fund, the CEOs of Stability.ai and LatticeHQ, as well as the former CEOs of NYT, BBC, and Reuters. We’re solving novel, challenging problems in NLP and ML, and deploying cutting-edge solutions to detect the origin and veracity of the information on the web.
We’ve built a team from Meta, Uber, Microsoft, Affirm, Bloomberg, and Robinhood, as well as AI research labs from Princeton, Vector, MILA, and Caltech. To continue our rapid growth, we're looking for people who are passionate about this mission to join us!
This role is neither completely news nor marketing.
Some days you will be akin to a beat reporter covering breaking news in artificial intelligence. On other days, you will be paired with an experienced marketing mentor to implement consumer marketing strategies such as lifecycle marketing, email marketing, paid ads, social media, A/B testing, etc.
The ideal candidate has:
An intense love for writing, articles, newsletters, blogs, personal essays etc.
A voracious appetite for consuming news, especially recent trends in artificial intelligence.
Experimental, data-driven, and comfortable with basic Python code
1-4 years of professional working experience, in either marketing-related roles within a startup or media.
Willingness to learn new skills.
This is a full-time position with competitive salary, benefits, and equity.

Edward (our CEO) to craft the messages we send to our community, and shape the GPTZero brand.
Faizan (our senior marketing advisor) on implementing growth marketing strategies.
Alex (our CTO) in translating our machine learning developments into exciting and engaging content for our readers
Additionally, you will be working with an experienced (eg. ex-Google, Meta, Microsoft, Bloomberg ML, Uber, Vector AI Institute), diverse (eg. a designer with artwork featured in the Met, an engineering team with both Y-combinator and Obama scholarship recipients) and driven (eg. an operator who has scaled a company to 100M+ revenue and is committed to doing it again) group of individuals, described by one investor as one of the strongest founding teams seen in their career.

Email marketing strategy to 2 million+ registered GPTZero users
Developing educational content and video tutorials to engage and support our users
Communicating our newest machine learning developments, AI safety initiatives, and product launches.
Spearheading a GPTZero news initiative to cover breaking news in AI detection, in academia, product, and government policy
Measure and report on the impact of marketing initiatives with quantitative tools to drive data-driven decisions.
1-4+ years of professional marketing or related experience in a startup environment
Experience executing successful marketing campaigns that drive revenue growth
Ability to own marketing analytics, tracking the success of different initiatives
Self-starter, entrepreneurial, and biased towards action
