Coder seeks a Senior Product Marketing Manager to join our expanding team. Coder keeps developers in flow by delivering consistent, scalable, and pre-configured cloud development environments. With Coder, platform teams transition local environments from developers’ laptops to the cloud, eliminating burdensome toil that often degrades developer experience.

Happy devs = productive devs. We’re tinkerers and we like to keep it weird – literally, those are two of our core pillars. But make no mistake, we’ve achieved product-market fit and are excited that you will join us in our next growth stage. This role reports directly to Coder’s Head of Product Marketing.

Still with us? Here’s who will catch our eye…

Our ideal candidate is experienced in launching new products and maturing existing ones through iterative feature releases. You're a pro at cross-functionally partnering with Research & Development, Product, and GTM teams to anticipate their needs while responding to what we learn from customers on the front lines.

You think in concise bullet points but you don't hesitate to knock out a well-written release post that demonstrates ongoing value to existing customers and piques the curiosity of future customers. You listen to Gong recordings for fun (ok, maybe that’s a stretch) but prefer to join in person when appropriate. Speaking in front of virtual and live audiences is no big deal, and you invite the opportunity to distribute your knowledge for the good of Coder and Coder's audience.

More about what you’ll do…

  • Collaborate with the Product team to launch new products and features, ensuring timely and comprehensive monthly releases

  • Support roadmap prioritization alongside the Product team while understanding each roadmap initiative and planning how much Product Marketing support each initiative will require

  • Own the go-to-market messaging and positioning for new products and features

  • Facilitate and contribute to internal enablement for GTM teams, ensuring they are well-equipped with the latest product knowledge

  • Serve as the connective tissue between Product and the rest of Marketing, minimizing surprises and ensuring we’re all on the same page about new products and features

  • Build targeted sales plays based on common use cases, collaborating closely with the sales team to identify prospects and drive pipeline growth

  • Create compelling sales and marketing assets to build awareness of Coder and support our sales team

  • Use your domain knowledge and technical expertise to create compelling content tailored to our target personas

What you bring…

  • 5+ years in a product marketing and sales enablement-focused role

  • Expert-level experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Product

  • Strong communication skills with the understanding and ability to articulate technical solutions to audiences of varying expertise

  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle in depth

  • Responsiveness and work well asynchronously through channels like Slack

  • Experience marketing to enterprise companies where it’s second nature to think in use cases

  • Innate ability to build empathy for technical audiences and personas

  • Ability to provide a portfolio and/or 3 to 4 materials you have created such as launch and release materials, blog posts, sales decks, product demos, whitepapers, presentations, sales materials, etc.

Bonus tacos if you have…

  • (Tacos? Yes. If you need an ice-breaker, ask how we say thanks by giving tacos!)

  • Familiarity with open-source technology, devtools, and/or CDEs (Cloud Development Environments)

  • You need not be a former developer, but you should be able to empathize with engineers.

  • Experience working in high-growth startup environments

  • Creative experience with design tools like Figma and/or video tools like Descript

Interview Process

We believe that the interview process should be consistent and enjoyable. We hope to get through the interview process in two to three weeks if schedules allow. During this time, you will be able to meet a mix of individual contributors, managers, and leadership. If this position requires a take-home assessment, we will compensate you for your work and time after completion.
