Join a small team building high-performance data systems‍

We’re looking for a software engineer to develop frameworks, drivers, and tools that accelerate open-source big data processing on custom hardware. You’ll focus on enabling and optimizing large-scale workloads in tailored cloud environments, with seamless integration into AWS-based data services.

This role includes building and refining software stacks, implementing tools for benchmarking, debugging, and performance analysis, and evaluating acceleration gains to improve efficiency in cloud-based platforms.

Requirements
‍

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from a leading university
• Strong programming skills in C++ or Java
• 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on high-performance computing

Bonus points
‍

• Python or Scala experience for data and system development
• Background in runtime systems and low-level performance tuning
• Experience with big data frameworks like Apache Spark
• Understanding of columnar formats like Parquet and their effect on query performance
• Familiarity with AWS services including EMR, S3, and EC2
