The DubClub online ecosystem enables sports content creators and sports data providers (collectively termed “cappers”) to make more money with DubClub than anywhere else, while providing a superior experience of information delivery and advantageous interaction for subscribers of cappers.

DubClub was founded by a team of Stanford football and baseball alumni who launched the company’s first product in October 2021. Since then, DubClub has scaled rapidly to hundreds of thousands of users (DubClub "members"), with millions in revenue generated by cappers through the platform. DubClub is backed with Series A funding from a leading Silicon Valley tech VC firm and a leading sports-focused tech VC firm out of New York.

The role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer with expertise in Python/Django to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in software engineering principles, with a focus on building scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems. Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or infrastructure management is highly desirable, along with familiarity with frontend technologies such as Svelte or React. Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a significant advantage, as we leverage GCP services extensively within our infrastructure.

The problems you will solve

  • Architect, design, and implement robust backend solutions using Python and Django framework.

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver high-quality software products.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes.

  • Drive initiatives to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance through proactive monitoring, optimization, and infrastructure enhancements.

  • Mentor junior team members and actively participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate to enhance the company's technical capabilities.

What makes a great candidates

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Extensive experience in backend software development using Python and Django framework.

  • Strong understanding of database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and proficiency in writing efficient SQL queries.

  • Familiarity with frontend development technologies such as Svelte or React is a plus.

  • Prior experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or infrastructure management is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and experience deploying applications on GCP is advantageous.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a distributed team environment.

  • Located in the San Francisco Bay Area or willingness to travel on ocassion preferred.

  • Experience working in a startup environment or with small, agile teams preferred.
