DubClub Overview:

The DubClub founding team played football and baseball together at Stanford, then remained friends after college. Like many sports bettors and sports fans, we triumphed together. But we also lost together. Through it all, we did our best to utilize the timely information shared by countless sports content creators to better inform our bets. Input from these sports content creators was useful, but the methods to receive their timely content containing betting advice were unreliable. We found ourselves refreshing websites, sifting through timelines, and jumping in and out of Discord servers.

When we paid these sports content creators for their advice, a great dynamic ensued. They made money from our payment for their content, and we lost money less frequently. Thus, DubClub was born to serve sports content creators that are serious about making a lot of money from their sports betting content. Our product is the business operating system for sports content creator CEOs (our “partners”) to easily inform more consumers and achieve financial freedom.

Since our founding, we have facilitated over $50 million in subscription payments for our partners and delivered hundreds of millions of messages containing informational sports betting content to consumers. People make more money and more informed sports betting decisions with DubClub.

The Role

You will be joining DubClub as a senior engineer on-site in our San Francisco office. As an Engineer at DubClub, you will be part of a small, but highly motivated team focused on solving problems that drive meaningful outcomes in the lives of our users.

Your focus will be building scalable, secure systems - from subscription billing to global payout workflows - that directly impact thousands of users and process millions in transactions.

Responsibilities will include

  • Design and evolve DubClub’s core payment infrastructure, including subscription billing, split payouts, and PCI-compliant transaction flows, while contributing to broader platform challenges

  • Build resilient systems for mission-critical operations like fraud detection, partner onboarding (KYC), and financial reconciliation

  • Collaborate on architecture decisions for a provider-agnostic framework (e.g., multi-gateway routing, card vault migration)

  • Solve complex problems spanning payments, marketplace economics, and user-facing product features

Core Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering experience, with 2+ years focused on payments, billing, or fintech systems (e.g., integrating Stripe-like tools, designing PCI-compliant flows, or handling marketplace payouts).

  • Expertise in PCI compliance (tokenization, secure data handling) and transactional systems (idempotency, retries, audit trails).

  • Backend proficiency in Python, Go, or similar (APIs, async workflows, distributed systems

  • Startup Mindset - You’ve worked in fast-paced environments, made tradeoffs between speed and scalability, and solved ambiguous problems

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration (e.g. Temporal.io, AWS Step Functions)

  • Frontend skills (React, Svelte, React Native)

  • Exposure to mobile payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay integrations)

  • Interest in sports/sports betting compliance (a plus, not required)

  • Infrastructure skills - AWS, Azure, Google Cloud

Compensation

  • $200 - $250K total compensation (based on experience) + stock options.

    • Per our values, you get paid more when you drive desired outcomes.

  • If you are not located in San Francisco, you will be paid a relocation bonus to move such that you can work in the DubClub SF office; you will spend your first 6 months at DubClub in office to best equip you for success in your role.
