Who are we?

GPTZero is the world's leading platform for verifying the origin, quality, and factuality of the world's information. In less than a year, GPTZero has been used by over 5M people around the world and is depended on by thousands of consumer and enterprise customers. We’ve been covered on the front page of the NYT, BBC, WSJ, WaPo, Fox, NPR, and CNN; and serve >2M unique users per month.

In March 2023, we raised a $3.5M seed round co-led by Uncork Capital and Neo with angel investments by the Altman Fund, the CEOs of Stability.ai and LatticeHQ, as well as the former CEOs of NYT, BBC, and Reuters. We’re solving novel, challenging problems in NLP and ML, and deploying cutting-edge solutions to detect the origin and veracity of the information on the web.

We’ve built a team from Meta, Uber, Microsoft, Affirm, Bloomberg, and Robinhood, as well as AI research labs from Princeton, Vector, MILA, and Caltech. To continue our rapid growth, we're looking for people who are passionate about this mission to join us!

Job Posting:

We are hiring a senior UI/UX designer, based in or willing to relocate to New York, for a full time equity incentivized position, as the director of design at GPTZero.

Team

You’d be working primarily with our CEO Edward Tian (ex-BBC World Service, Microsoft, Princeton), our CTO Alex Cui (ex-Waabi, PhD dropout, Uber), and our incredible founding engineers. You will also become a manager and design mentor for Olivia Kusio, and personally hire and lead our growing UI/UX team.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional design experience.

• 3+ years of UI/UX experience

• Advanced familiarity with Figma

• Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and committed to executing fast and leading a design team.

Our Projects:

Immediately on the road map: we are revamping the design and user flow for our GPTZero Dashboard, promoting our Chrome extension that integrates directly onto webpages to highlight AI-written text, and exploring creative designs for new products such as our new Google Docs and upcoming Gmail integration.

Overall, you would be building, leading, and joining a rapidly growing startup with a great runway, and responsible for presentations of our core products, dashboards, chrome extensions, while joining the product iteration phase as we launch new products.
