Junior Information Security Analyst: Policy & Risk Management (Intern)
Mission: As an information security analyst intern, you will report to the GRC lead and play a key role in assessing risk, managing relationships with security and compliance contacts of vendors to gather necessary compliance artifacts and conduct risk assessments. You can expect to be involved in developing and implementing effective information security policies and risk management practices to protect organizational assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, while fostering a culture of security awareness and risk-informed decision-making.
Location: If you're located near one of our offices in Palo Alto, California or Toronto, Canada, you might be asked to work hybrid.
Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:
- Work with staff to track and develop information security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential gaps and opportunities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Analyze and report on risk metrics and risk indicators to inform decision-making.
- Contribute to the development of a comprehensive information security and risk management programs.
- Learn about and stay up-to-date with emerging threats, trends, and best practices in information security and risk management.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in information security and risk management.
Ideal candidates have/are:
- At least a foundational understanding of security fundamentals, risk management, and compliance.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex data, identify patterns, and develop creative solutions.
- Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders, with ability to distill complex concepts into actionable information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Organized, with ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Interest in understanding and improving the risk posture of a business that has a market leading presence in chip hardware R&D, data center operations, software development and cloud computing.
- Willingness and strong desire to learn, take on new challenges, and develop skills in information security and risk management, with a growth mindset.
