About Groq
Groq delivers fast, efficient AI inference. Our LPU-based system powers GroqCloud™, giving businesses and developers the speed and scale they need. From our Bay Area roots to our growing global presence, we are on a mission to make high performance AI compute more accessible and affordable. When real-time AI is within reach, anything is possible. Build fast.
Mission
Groq is redefining AI inference at scale. As the European Union mobilizes billions to build AI Gigafactories and sovereign infrastructure, Groq is uniquely positioned to power these initiatives with ultra-low-latency, deterministic AI compute.
We're hiring a Strategic Account Director to lead Groq’s commercial and political interface across these programs—driving multimillion-euro partnerships, orchestrating public-private consortia, and ensuring Groq is embedded at the heart of Europe’s AI future.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Engagements
  • Lead Groq value proposition into Service Providers and Telcos in EE
  • Lead Groq’s participation in the AI Gigafactories (AIGF) initiative, InvestAI, and other digital sovereignty efforts.
  • Represent Groq with EU Commission bodies, EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, and national-level stakeholders.
Proposal Development
  • Architect and lead Groq’s responses to major EU infrastructure opportunities.
  • Coordinate internal (engineering, legal, finance) and external (partners, states) inputs for high-quality submissions.
Consortium Building
  • Form and manage EU-based consortia including hyperscalers, sovereign funds, energy providers, and academic institutions.
  • Align partners on investment split, site selection, technical roadmap, and governance model.
Public-Private Structuring
  • Create and negotiate investment frameworks that blend public (EU/national) and private capital.
  • Engage with financial partners (EIB, EIF, national promo banks) to secure long-term co-investment viability.
Market & Policy Advocacy
  • Position Groq as the foundational layer for sovereign AI compute infrastructure.
  • Educate stakeholders on the unique performance, TCO, and scalability benefits of Groq’s architecture.
Qualifications:
Experience
  • 10+ years in strategic account leadership, government-funded infrastructure, or EU tech policy.
  • Deep familiarity with EU institutions, funding tools (EuroHPC, RRF), and industrial digital strategy.
Skills
  • Strong relationship builder with proven success managing >€100M public-private programs.
  • Fluency in translating advanced technology into policy-aligned business cases.
  • Business-level English required; French, German or other EU languages advantageous.
Mindset
  • Builder mentality: thrives in ambiguity, executes with urgency.
  • Politically aware but commercially driven.
  • Collaborative, resilient, and outcome-oriented.
Bonus Experience
  • Prior involvement in EuroHPC projects, Gaia-X, IPCEI-CIS, or equivalent strategic infrastructure bids.
  • Background in high-performance computing, AI scaling, or sustainable data center development.
  • Networked in Brussels or EU member-state ministries relevant to digital/tech investment.
Success Metrics
  • Groq is included as the compute infrastructure partner in one or more AIGF consortium submissions.
  • Tangible partnership agreements in place with public and private infrastructure backers.
  • Active engagement underway with EuroHPC and EU financial institutions to support deployment.
  • Business model defined for monetizing Groq’s infrastructure role in EU sovereign initiatives.
Language:
  • Fluent in English
Personal Attributes:
  • Biased for action
  • Innovative, with the ability to adapt to new challenges and think creatively.
  • Highly collaborative, with a customer-first mentality.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with both internal and external stakeholders.
