Mission:
The Sourcing Manager is responsible for driving strategic procurement initiatives that optimize cost, quality, and delivery for data center infrastructure and services. This role is pivotalin managing the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle, building high-performing supplier partnerships, and aligning procurement strategies with cross-functional business goals. The ideal candidate brings deep sourcing expertise, strong negotiation skills, and a data-driven mindset to improve total cost of ownership, enhance supplier performance, and accelerate infrastructure deployment while ensuring full compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities & Outcomes:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for data center and telecoms infrastructure and services that optimize cost, quality, and delivery outcomes.
- End-to-End Procurement: Lead the entire procurement lifecycle (RFIs/RFPs, supplier selection, contract negotiations) to secure best-value agreements and ensure continuity of supply for critical data center projects
- Supplier Management: Manage supplier relationships and drive high supplier performance, by conducting regular business reviews and performance evaluations, ensuring vendors consistently meet agreed-upon cost, quality, and delivery standards with minimal operational disruptionsCross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with supply chain, engineering, data center operations, finance, legal, and other teams to align procurement plans with technical requirements, project timelines, and overall business objectives
- Cost & Value Optimisation: Drive cost savings and value improvements by leveraging market intelligence, competitive bidding, and value engineering initiatives to improve total cost of ownership (TCO) for data center assets.
- Process Improvement & Compliance: Implement and refine supplier selection processes and tools (e.g. RFI/RFP processes, supplier onboarding workflows, document management) to increase efficiency and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on sourcing performance using key KPIs and dashboards, tracking metrics like cost savings, supplier performance, and process efficiency to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement
- Deliverables: Consistently deliver measurable cost savings, enhance supplier performance, and improve procurement agility to accelerate infrastructure deployment
Ideal Candidates Have/Are:
- Experience & Technical Skills
- 5+ years of strategic sourcing or procurement experience, preferably within data centers, telecommunications, IT infrastructure, or related industries
- Proven track record managing the full sourcing lifecycle (RFIs, RFPs, contract negotiations, supplier selection)
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure components (e.g., power, cooling, network equipment, racks, cabling, etc.)
- Experience managing large vendor contracts, including SLAs, commercial terms, and legal coordination
- Proficiency with procurement and sourcing tools (e.g., Coupa, SAP Ariba, or equivalent)
- Skilled in cost modeling, TCO analysis, and should-cost analysis techniques
- Strong data analysis capabilities using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to track KPIs and sourcing performance
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements related to vendor onboarding, data security, and sourcing
- Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, especially with supply chain, engineering, operations, and finance teams

Compensation: At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, the base salary range is $197,000 to $241,500 determined by your skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks.
