Director, Global Facilities
Mission:
Lead the global Facilities organization to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable workplaces that enable the company’s strategic objectives. Oversee all aspects of property management, operations, sustainability, and vendor relationships across multiple continents.
Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute a global facilities strategy aligned with business growth and sustainability goals.
    • Partner with executive leadership to forecast facility needs for new markets and expansion projects.
  • Operations Management:
    • Oversee day‑to‑day operations for all owned, leased, and third‑party sites.
    • Ensure high standards for space utilization, safety, and occupant comfort.
    • Manage hardware testing and development labs, including ESD controls, clean environments, and export compliance safeguards for controlled technology.
    • Maintain physical access control and security systems in coordination with Security Engineering and Compliance teams.
  • Financial Stewardship:
    • Create and manage multi‑million‑dollar global facilities budgets.
    • Deliver cost‑optimization initiatives without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Project & Portfolio Governance:
    • Lead cross‑functional project teams for new construction, renovation, and relocation projects.
    • Apply best practices in project scheduling, risk management, and post‑occupancy evaluation.
  • Vendor & Contract Management:
    • Negotiate, award, and oversee contracts with global vendors (HVAC, maintenance, security, cleaning, utilities).
    • Implement performance metrics and regular reviews to maintain service excellence.
  • Sustainability & ESG:
    • Drive energy‑efficiency, waste‑reduction, and green‑building initiatives.
    • Report on ESG metrics and help the company meet regulatory and corporate sustainability targets.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensure global sites meet local, regional, and international compliance requirements, including OSHA, ISO, and export-control regulations.
    • Maintain export compliance protocols for hardware testing environments, including equipment, materials, and personnel access restrictions.
    • Lead emergency response planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity exercises.
  • Talent & Culture:
    • Build, coach, and develop a high‑performance global facilities team.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, customer focus, and innovation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for cross‑functional teams (HR, Finance, Legal, IT) on facilities matters.
    • Translate business needs into facility solutions.
  • Data & Analytics:
    • Leverage data platforms to monitor occupancy, costs, and performance.
    • Provide actionable insights to inform strategic decisions.
    • Implement dashboards and analytics that enable strategic, real-time decision-making.
Ideal candidates have/are:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in global facilities operations, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing multi‑country portfolios and large budgets.
  • Strong negotiation, vendor‑management, and project‑delivery skills.
  • Deep understanding of export compliance, physical security standards, and environmental health and safety (EHS) frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of sustainability standards (LEED, BREEAM, ISO 14001) and ESG reporting.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to travel as required (typically 20‑30 %).

Compensation: At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, the base salary range is $223,900 to $302,900, determined by your skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks.
