Head of Solutions Architecture
Mission:
We are seeking a Head of Solutions Architecture (U.S.) to lead and scale our Americas-based Field Engineering team, a group of world-class AI Solution Architects and Forward-deployed Engineers. This leader will play a critical role in enabling our customers to adopt and scale Groq’s ultra-low-latency AI inference platform, ensuring that our Solutions Architects are deeply aligned with customer outcomes and equipped to deliver technical excellence.
You will partner closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering leadership to build a world-class pre-sales and solution engineering function that is central to our go-to-market strategy in North America.
Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:
- Team Leadership & Growth.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of Field Engineers across the U.S.
- Define clear career paths (IC and leadership) for SA roles.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, customer empathy, and rapid execution.
Customer Engagement & Solutioning:
- Partner with Sales to understand customer needs and design tailored AI inference and GenAI solutions using Groq’s platform.
- Oversee technical discovery, solution architecture, demos, proofs of concept (POCs), and production deployments.
- Serve as an executive technical point of escalation for strategic U.S. customers.
Operational Excellence:
- Establish and manage scalable engagement processes across pre-sales and post-sales activities.
- Define and monitor SA performance metrics (time to value, proof-of-concept success rates, customer satisfaction).
- Implement knowledge-sharing practices, playbooks, and technical enablement frameworks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with Product Management and Engineering to provide structured customer feedback that informs roadmap priorities.
- Align with Marketing to showcase customer success stories, use cases, and technical thought leadership.
Ideal candidates have/are:
- 10+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or related fields; 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Deep understanding of AI/ML infrastructure, high-performance computing, or cloud architectures.
- Proven experience leading technical teams that support enterprise customers.
- Strong consultative skills; able to translate business needs into scalable AI solutions.
- Excellent communication and executive presence.

Compensation: At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, the base salary range is $231,625 to $299,800, determined by your location, skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks. This range is specific to roles in the United States, compensation for candidates outside the USA will be dependent on the local market.
This position may require access to technology and/or information subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). To comply with these requirements, candidates for this role must meet certain citizenship or residency criteria.
