Trust and Assurance Lead
Mission:
The Trust & Assurance Lead is an individual-contributor (IC) role reporting to the Head of Governance Risk and Compliance. You will not have direct reports initially, but will lead cross-functional task forces in the preparation of necessary trust materials.
This role sits at the intersection of Security, GRC, and Sales Enablement. You will be the primary customer-facing interface for Groq’s security and compliance posture — helping accelerate revenue by proactively addressing security due diligence, managing customer RFIs and RFPs, and building confidence in Groq’s security commitments.
You’ll partner closely with Sales, Legal, Security Engineering, and Compliance to ensure Groq can respond to customer security reviews at scale, streamline the RFP process, and prepare for customer audits. This role is ideal for someone who loves translating complex technical and compliance topics into clear, trustworthy narratives that close deals faster.
Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:
- Own Groq’s customer trust and assurance process, serving as the front-line responder for all customer security inquiries, RFIs, and due diligence questionnaires.
- Partner with Sales and Legal teams to proactively address customer security questions during the pre-sales cycle, reducing friction and accelerating deal closure.
- Manage security/GRC requests related to customer RFP/RFI workflows, coordinate internal inputs, and ensure responses are consistent, complete, and on-brand with Groq’s trust narrative.
- Maintain a library of reusable content, FAQs, and audit evidence (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, ECC-1, pen tests, etc.) for rapid response to customer requests.
- Support customer audits and security reviews, facilitating walkthroughs and artifact delivery in collaboration with Security, GRC, and Infrastructure teams.
- Partner with the Compliance Manager and Audit & Control Testing Specialist to align customer-facing documentation with internal controls and certifications.
- Develop trust-enabling materials, such as trust center content, security one-pagers, or summary decks — that reinforce Groq’s credibility and transparency.
- Track key metrics (response turnaround time, deal support rate, customer satisfaction) to quantify impact and continuously improve processes.
- Provide structured feedback loops to engineering and leadership on recurring customer security concerns, helping shape roadmap prioritization.
Ideal candidates have/are:
- 5+ years of experience in customer trust, assurance, or security compliance roles within technology or cloud infrastructure environments.
- Deep familiarity with security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, HIPAA).
- Proven experience managing customer RFIs, security questionnaires, or trust inquiries at scale.
- Strong sales partnership mindset — understands how to build customer confidence and remove friction in the sales process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex security concepts into clear, business-friendly language.
- Experience with GRC or compliance automation tools (Vanta, Tugboat Logic, ServiceNow GRC, Drata, etc.).
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable prioritizing and managing multiple concurrent customer engagements.
Nice to have:
- Prior experience working with Sales Operations or Pre-Sales Engineering on enterprise accounts.
- Understanding of AI infrastructure, data sovereignty, or regulated industry compliance requirements.
- Experience developing Trust Centers, Customer Assurance Portals, or RFP automation content libraries.
- Certifications such as CISA, CCSK, CISM, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor.
