Head of Strategy & Operations, Marketing
Mission:
We’re looking for a Head of Strategy & Operations to bring structure, accountability, and operational rigor to a fast-scaling marketing organization. You will own the systems that keep the team focused, from annual planning and quarterly OKRs to budget management and the weekly business review.
This is a high-visibility role for someone who thrives on turning strategy into operating discipline. You will ensure every initiative, dollar, and meeting ladders up to measurable business impact.
Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:
Planning & Prioritization
  • Lead annual and quarterly planning for the marketing organization, translating company OKRs into clear priorities, milestones, and measures of success.
  • Maintain and continuously refine the marketing operating rhythm, including goal reviews, retros, and dashboards.
  • Ensure strategic focus by aligning team resources and budgets to the highest-impact work.
Budget Management
  • Partner with Finance to own the full marketing budget, from planning and forecasting to reconciliation and optimization.
  • Track spend across channels, programs, and vendors to ensure discipline and maximize ROI.
  • Build and maintain real-time budget visibility and reporting systems that tie investment to performance.
Weekly Business Review (WBR)
  • Own and facilitate the Weekly Business Review, ensuring clear visibility into performance, progress, and priorities.
  • Consolidate data and insights from across marketing to provide a single source of truth for leadership.
  • Identify trends, risks, and blockers, and drive follow-up actions that keep execution aligned to strategy.
  • Create a consistent rhythm of accountability that connects day-to-day performance to long-term goals.
Strategic Support
  • Support the CMO in board meetings, executive reviews, and special projects.
  • Prepare materials, performance updates, and strategic narratives for executive audiences.
  • Provide structure and insight to help the CMO and leadership team make informed decisions quickly.
Operational Excellence
  • Maintain the Marketing Source of Truth for plans, budgets, OKRs, and performance updates.
  • Build scalable systems for project tracking, vendor onboarding, and reporting.
  • Drive consistency in how the team plans, measures, and communicates results.
Ideal candidates have/are:
  • 10+ years in marketing strategy, campaign planning, and budget ownership.
  • Proven experience leading planning processes and managing complex marketing budgets.
  • Strong operational and analytical skills, with the ability to simplify data into clear narratives.
  • Deep experience running structured business reviews and performance meetings.
  • High attention to detail, structured problem-solving, and operational rigor.
  • A calm, confident operator who brings order, focus, and follow-through.

Compensation: At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, the base salary range is $214,300 to $277,300, determined by your location, skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks. This range is specific to roles in the United States, compensation for candidates outside the USA will be dependent on the local market.
This position may require access to technology and/or information subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
