GL Accountant

Mission:

Our mission is to build a financial foundation that accelerates Groq’s ability to deliver fast, accessible, and affordable AI compute to the world. As a GL Accountant, you ensure the precision, integrity, and scalability of our financial systems, empowering the company to innovate with confidence, operate with clarity, and grow responsibly as we democratize real-time AI.

Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:

Core Accounting Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, fixed assets, prepaids, and accruals, and others.
Support month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
Maintain and organize accounting documentation to support audits and internal reviews.

Cross-Functional Support

Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense management as needed.
Support audit preparation, including gathering documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Collaborate with FP&A and other teams to ensure accurate reporting and analysis.

Process Improvement & Systems

Participate in ongoing process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency.
Leverage the ERP and other peripheral systems to streamline workflows and maintain data integrity.

Ideal candidates have/are:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in technology or fast-growth environments.
High proficiency with U.S. GAAP and standard month-end close processes.
Proficiency with NetSuite, FloQast, Ramp, and Zip (strongly preferred).
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a fast-paced startup or scaling technology company.
Automation mindset and experience implementing or using automation tools.
Experience supporting or leading accounting process improvements.
Big4 public accounting experience.
CPA or progress toward CPA certification.

Compensation: At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, the base salary range is $95,800 to $129,500, determined by your location, skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks. This range is specific to roles in the United States, compensation for candidates outside the USA will be dependent on the local market.
