Mission

To support the integrity and accuracy of Groq's financial reporting by applying deep technical accounting expertise, ensuring GAAP compliance, and helping build the scalable accounting infrastructure needed to support a high-growth, public-facing technology company.

Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:
Technical Accounting & Compliance
  • Assist in improving compliance with GAAP in preparation for a PCAOB audit and recommend corrective courses of action to strengthen the overall control environment
  • Assist in the preparation of journal entries to correct previously recorded accounting entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the general ledger
  • Prepare supporting documentation and evidence of proper accounting classification and treatment for complex transactions, including but not limited to stock-based compensation, assets placed in service from construction in progress, lease accounting, accrual accounting, and revenue recognition
  • Review NetSuite accounts for unusual amounts and or transactions and investigate to ensure amounts are recorded in the right account codes and in the correct period
  • Perform account reconciliations to assist in month end close and financial statement note disclosure
Systems & Operations
  • Leverage NetSuite to support day-to-day accounting operations, journal entry preparation, and reporting needs
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability by contributing to a variety of accounting projects across the organization as priorities evolve in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, and operations teams to ensure transactions are captured and reported accurately and in a timely manner
Ideal candidates have/are:
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license preferred
  • 5-7+ years of corporate accounting experience with a public company and/or Big 4 public accounting background
  • Proficiency in NetSuite or comparable ERP systems
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, with demonstrated experience applying technical accounting standards across complex transaction types
  • Experience preparing or reviewing technical accounting memos and conducting GAAP research
  • Proven ability to perform flux and variance analysis with clear, concise written explanations
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Familiarity with SEC Regulation S-X and S-K a positive, but not required
  • Experience with revenue recognition concepts including stand-alone selling price, over-time and point-in-time recognition, and ASC 606 a positive, but not required
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing principles and intercompany reconciliations a plus, but not required

Groq is committed to providing competitive compensation through our Total Cash philosophy, which incorporates potential bonus value directly into base pay. The total cash salary range for this position, which is inclusive of the potential bonus value, is $115,900–$156,700, with individual placement determined by your geographic location, experience, skills, and alignment with internal compensation standards. This range is specific to candidates located in the United States. Compensation for international candidates will vary based on local market dynamics. Beyond cash compensation, Groq also offers equity participation and a robust suite of employee benefits.
