We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented 401(k) Recordkeeping Operations Manager to oversee and manage a skilled team of Recordkeeping Operations Associates. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in retirement plan administration, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements in the retirement plan industry. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accurate and efficient management of our clients' retirement accounts.

  • Lead and mentor a team of skilled Recordkeeping Associates
  • Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment within the team.
  • Oversee the daily administration of integral tasks, including, transaction corrections, vesting and source adjustments.
  • Monitor and reconcile money movements within both retirement accounts and HI operating accounts.
  • Work closely with our custodian bank partners to ensure operational effectiveness between our organizations.
  • Collaborate with IT and Product teams to optimize performance and implement necessary upgrades.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement best practices and streamline operational procedures.
  • Develop and implement audit procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of recordkeeping data.

What you bring to the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., ASPPA, ERPA, QKA) is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in 401(k) recordkeeping and retirement plan administration, preferably in an operational role.
  • 3+ years of relevant leadership experience
  • Experience in banking or financial services & reconciliation is preferred
  • Strong understanding of IRS and DOL regulations governing retirement plans.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.

Compensation - At Human Interest, there are a number of factors that are used to determine the appropriate pay range for each position. We take into account the cost of labor for each position in various markets across the US. The base salary for this position spans from a minimum of $77,053 in our lowest geographic region to a maximum of $126,788 in our highest geographic region. The salary that we offer to a new employee within this range is based on their location within the US, their relevant job-related skills, and experience. At Human Interest, base salary is one component of the overall Total Rewards package. Depending on the position, additional compensation components such as bonus, commission, and equity may be offered.
