As our Head of Business Development, you will be instrumental in driving Loft Federal to become a major force in the US Government sector. You will be pivotal in establishing Loft as a premier provider of space infrastructure for US Government missions and payloads.

Mission Objectives

  1. Business Strategy
    • Develop and execute Loft Federal’s US National Security Space strategy in coordination with the General Manager.
    • Evangelize Loft's products and services and help Loft become a household name within these communities.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders in the national security and intelligence communities, including key program offices, senior leaders, and principal investigators.
  2. Business Development
    • Build and sustain a pipeline of opportunities to support US Government missions.
    • Evaluate, shape, and lead pursuits of these opportunities.
    • Lead proposal efforts in collaboration with mission engineering and program management
    • Establish strategic partnerships to enhance access to customers and capabilities.
  3. Pipeline Management
    • Hunt, qualify, and shape opportunities to build a high-quality National Security pipeline.
    • Define and execute capture plans for specific opportunities within the pipeline.
    • Engage with key customer decision-makers and influencers to shape and secure business pursuits.
  4. Technical Communication
    • Author responses to government and industry partner requests, including RFIs, RFPs, and other communications.
    • Identify, anticipate, and elicit mid- and long-term customers needs and trends to influence internal product and organizational development.
    • Track customer satisfaction throughout solution delivery.
  5. Industry Collaboration
    • Pursue and negotiate industry teaming arrangements to enhance Loft’s capabilities and deliver comprehensive solutions.
    • Support Loft Marketing in crafting strategic messaging for US Federal market pursuits.
    • Gain a deep understanding of customer requirements to inform Loft's product strategy and road-mapping.

Mission Mandates

  • Active DoD Secret clearance is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a DoD or Intelligence Community Top Secret background investigation with at least 3 years of eligibility remaining or CE status; and SCI eligibility with current experience in SCI programs, other control systems, and/or Special Access Programs

Mission Credentials

  • Strong business development experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in aerospace industry or government organizations involved in spacecraft procurement, development, launch, and operations.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a programmatic or technical role on a space systems program
  • In-depth knowledge of National Security Space acquisitions, operations, and strategic planning in industry or government.
  • Demonstrated success in capturing space system business with US Defense or Intelligence customers.
  • Experience building and managing a customer pipeline, and proficient with Salesforce CRM software.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills that include demonstrated success in writing proposals, white papers, and similar technical communications.
  • Experience developing or directly contributing to organizational strategic planning to align organizational goals and capabilities with target markets or needs.
  • Plus: intimacy with the US civil space community (NASA and/or NOAA)
  • Flexible on location. Preference for Golden or location near large customer bases
  • Expected travel: 25%

This range is intentionally wide as we assess individuals based on their unique abilities and experience to find the best fit for our needs. Ultimately, your compensation will be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Salary Range
$175,000$265,000 USD
