Job Summary:

Reputation is looking for an Engineering Manager adept in steering platform engineering units across diverse locations to advance our enterprise social media SaaS application. The ideal candidate will possess the capacity to foster unity and motivation among engineering teams within an inclusive environment. A managerial style oriented towards team cohesion, coupled with the knack for recruiting and nurturing top-tier technical talent, is crucial. Proficiency in negotiation, especially within intricate multi-organizational software landscapes, is highly valued. We prize innovative thinking, collaboration skills, and the ability to tackle ambiguous problems comfortably. A proactive mindset, coupled with a sense of urgency in driving tasks to completion, is essential. A deep passion for delivering top-notch products and a strong sense of accountability for the delivery and excellence of our infrastructure product/platform are key attributes we seek.

Responsibilities:

  • As the Engineering Manager, your role involves spearheading an engineering team, and shaping and crafting our product roadmap and technical strategy.

  • Partner with product managers and senior engineering leadership; ensure alignment with engineering and product priorities

  • Build a healthy, scalable, inclusive, and growth-oriented engineering organization.

  • Oversee systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and review product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.

  • With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple locations and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects.

  • Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals.

  • Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.

  • Develop the long-term technical vision and roadmap within, and often beyond, the scope of your teams.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional experience leading software engineering teams.

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives/projects from strategy to execution

  • Experience leading platform engineering teams across multiple locations

  • Advanced knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations

  • Advanced knowledge experience working with NoSQL databases, including development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization

  • Experience working in a Cloud environment

  • User-Centric: You have a strong sense of empathy for the end-user and are driven to improve their experience.

  • Technical Skills: Comfortable with data-intensive applications and distributed systems
