We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Development Engineer to join our team. As the Sr. Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading our software development initiatives, working with a talented team to create innovative solutions. Your expertise in the delivery of high-quality software will be essential in driving the development of our cutting-edge applications.

Responsibilities:

• Mentor a team of developers, providing technical guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and stakeholders, to define project requirements, scope, and timelines.
• Develop robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions using JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Utilize ORMs like TypeORM to streamline database interactions and improve efficiency.
• Develop and maintain codebase, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and documentation.
• Implement and optimize databases using Firebase, MongoDB, and Postgres, ensuring data integrity and efficient performance.
• Utilize Google Cloud Platform and AWS services to design and deploy scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Integrate internal applications and services, ensuring smooth communication and data flow.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, evaluating their potential application within the organization.
• Drive Agile development methodologies, facilitate Scrum ceremonies, and ensure the team follows Agile principles.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver innovative solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, working closely with the team to identify and implement effective solutions.
• Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Fluent in React 16+, Redux, and React Hooks
• Experience with using ORMs like TypeORM for efficient database interactions.
• Strong proficiency in NoSQL data engines like Firebase and MongoDB.
• Deep understanding of Postgres, with a focus on database design and optimization.
• Overall understanding of serverless computing.
• Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS, including deploying and managing cloud infrastructure.
• Proven experience integrating internal applications and services.
• Strong understanding and practical application of Agile development methodologies.
• Previous experience as a ScrumMaster is highly desired.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

What We Offer:

Wonderschool provides the wage ranges it reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for all remote roles and as otherwise required by applicable law. The expected range of starting pay for this role is $140,000 - $160,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary within the listed range based on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, experience, and specific geographic location.
