What we do:

Zefr is the global leader in brand suitability targeting and measurement across the world's largest platforms. Zefr’s technology is helping to power the age of responsible marketing by putting advertisers in control of their content adjacencies based on their own unique brand safety and suitability preferences, mapped to the Global Alliance of Responsible Media's (GARM) industry standards. As an official YouTube Measurement Program Partner, Meta for Business Partner, and TikTok for Business Partner, the company leverages patented machine learning and AI technology (Cognition AI) to offer brands and agencies more precise and transparent brand safety and suitability activation and measurement solutions on scaled platforms. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, with additional locations across the globe.

What you’ll do:

  • Work as part of our Software Engineering team to design, develop, implement, and deploy new and innovative software solutions to our licensed digital content enhancement, management, sharing, and delivery systems across scaled platforms (e.g., Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, etc.).

  • Contribute to ZEFR’s rapidly scaling software/hardware infrastructure and data management demands to keep the company at the forefront of responsible marketing technologies for content owners and brands.

  • Develop improvements and enhancements to optimize existing solutions, operations dashboards, metrics, and monitoring.

  • Contribute to the design and development of software within large-scale distributed systems, utilizing data structures and algorithms, and performing complexity analysis to facilitate the development of key cloud-based applications for processing large amounts of data.

  • Design taxonomy and models for the automation and optimization of video ad campaigns.

  • Develop software tools for campaign measurement, analytics, and anomaly detection.

  • Monitor data compilation and integration operations shared over a complex infrastructure. Solve challenges concerning performance optimization, parallelization, and scalability.

  • Utilize pair programming and other engineering collaboration techniques in working with Quality Assurance, Product/Project Engineers, and Dev Engineers.

  • Respond to software anomaly/failure incidents and follow the incident procedure/services runbooks to repair the system to a fully operational state.

  • Write clean, tested, and well-documented code using Python, Javascript, and Kotlin. Utilize state-of-the-art technology stacks including Github, Jenkins, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, Apache, Kafka, GitOps, Terraform, AWS, LaunchDarklv, and more.

What we’re looking for:

  • Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field plus:

  • Two (2) years of Software Development, or related experience: planning, designing, implementing, and supporting scalable software solutions; maintaining and supporting the back-end portal, including data aggregation and reporting tools, customer interaction auditing tools, and management tools; building and maintaining online learning management software, presentation tools, and task automating programs; applying programming best practices to perform cross-platform software development; developing and providing technical support for applications that run PHP, Java, Python, and Node.js programming languages; enhancing existing tools and applications to keep them current with technological trends; completing all necessary parts of the software development life cycle, including designing the applications, implementing the designed product, testing the new applications, all the way through deployment of the new software; solving software maintenance problems such as optimizing cache handling and software resilience; evaluating new and existing software technology; and maintaining and overseeing software deployment by monitoring and responding to the results of software reporting tools.
