Overview:

Livermore, CA. We are seeking a team of opto-electronic professionals to build and operate a suite of optical and laser- based systems for Inertia’s fusion energy program. Working in a newly constructed set of labs, we are building a wide range of test facilities and state-of-the-art capabilities. Come join the team that is creating a new era of clean energy!

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, build and test precision mechanical, electrical, optical and laser systems

  • Work with the physics, controls and engineering team to deliver high performance integrated capabilities – for example to inject and track IFE target location integrated with laser beam steering to point beam on target.

  • Support the design and operation of optical metrology and tracking test beds

  • Ensure all work is undertaken safely and efficiently

Qualifications and Experience:

Required

  • MS or PhD degree in engineering, physics, optics, photonics, or lasers and similar subject

  • Experience in precision laboratory environments

Preferred:

  • Experience working with optical systems in R&D environment.

  • Experience with precision alignment, characterization, and fast imaging and other photo sensors

  • Experience with integrating laser and sensors into fast response systems

Salary & Benefits:

The base salary range for this role is $185,000 - $275,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and education.
