The QA Test Manager will work closely with the Development and Product Management teams to assist in the definition of Product or Project requirements in addition to playing a leading role in software testing activities. You will be responsible for leading a group of QA testers in the development, implementation and execution of test cases, test data, tooling, test automation, inter-team communication, and test result communication. This position requires hands-on test execution skills as well as test management skills.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintains an advanced level of knowledge on the core testing tech-stack of Tulip
    • Risk based testing and risk analysis
    • Test case design using the following techniques:
      • Boundary value analysis
      • Equivalence partitioning
      • Data Flow / Activity flow diagramming
      • State transition
      • Failure mode analysis
      • Decision tables
    • Gherkin for test case writing
    • API interrogation using Postman
    • Javascript
    • x-code for device log monitoring
    • SQL for database level verifications
    • GCP log analysis, Charles Proxy or Chrome Dev-tools for traffic monitoring
    • Knowledge and understanding of FTP
    • Linux command line
  • Regression tests and software releases:
    • Maintains regression test environments, scheduled deployments, test data, feature flags and configuration.
    • Working with the Test Runners, the Test Manager is responsible for the application regression test runs, and Production release sign-off.
    • Maintains validity of the regression test suite by creating new, updating, and optimizing test cases.
    • Assures that the regression test suite coverage and the test priorities remain up to date by conducting reviews with the help of Support, Retail Excellence and Product teams.
    • Assures that the Test Runners are capable of running assigned test cases by conducting application walkthroughs and demonstrations.
    • Provides guidance to the automation test developers by prioritizing test cases for automation; providing requirements to update existing test cases where necessary.
    • Communicates Go / No-go decisions to the team.
    • Maintains the promotion job status based on the Go / No-go decisions.
  • Feature tests:
    • Participates in feature development planning meetings; provides input regarding functional / non-functional risk, testing capabilities and schedule.
    • Designs, documents and executes feature test cases according to Tulip test design guidelines.
    • Provides feature test coverage stats to management; and the Product team: assisting them with feature releases.
    • Assists with feature demonstrations at the end of build cycles / Sprints.
  • Bugs:
    • Conducts regular product bug triage meetings; assures that the team is aware of outstanding issues.
    • Assures that the bug statuses are true and accurate.
    • Provides known issues reports to the team; maintains “top” bugs reports.
    • Represents the QA party during Production incidents / War rooms. Participates in Postmortem meetings.

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of Software Testing experience in a distributed system environment
  • Experience working in a team that uses Agile methodologies for software development
  • Extensive experience with test environment and test data management
  • Extensive experience with test case design, test planning, test case result tracking
  • Experience working with running and troubleshooting automated test runs, CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Sauce Labs, Browser Stack or similar
  • Experience with Charles Proxy or similar for analyzing and altering request/response
  • Experience working with test management software such as TestRail or similar
  • Experience working with Jira or similar for bug reporting
  • Experience with verification and validation at the database level using SQL
  • Knowledge an experience with AWS and GCP hosted environments
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams / team members
